Prof.dr. Anke-Hilse Maitland-van der Zee, chair

Anke-Hilse Maitland-van der Zee (1975) studied Pharmaceutical Sciences from 1993-1999 at Groningen University (RUG). She received her PhD in 2003 at Utrecht University on a thesis entitled: “Pharmacogenetics of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors”. She was registered as an epidemiologist in 2004 and as a clinical pharmacologist in 2010. Since September 2016 she is a professor of Precision Medicine in Respiratory Disease at the University of Amsterdam. Before that she worked as an associate professor at Utrecht University.


Current research of Maitland-van der Zee focuses on precision medicine in respiratory disease. Precision Medicine refers to the tailoring of medical treatment to the individual characteristics of each patient.


She has (co-) authored more than 155 peer-reviewed publications.


She is (among other things) the secretary/treasurer of the Netherlands Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Biopharmacy and she is a board member of the Netherlands Respiratory Society.
