Wekelijkse webinarserie, iedere woensdag van 18:00-19:00.
The Principles of Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology Lecture Series, launched in 2012, was designed to mirror the Principles of Clinical Pharmacology series offered by the NIH Clinical Center.
This series addresses the fundamentals of clinical pharmacology from a pediatric perspective. It is designed to meet the needs and knowledge gaps of those pediatric clinical pharmacology students who lack a formal educational curriculum in this discipline, but the series is open to other groups of trainees who may benefit from the information.
Although this lecture series was designed specifically for fellows in the T32 Training Program, non-T32 fellows and others who are interested in the topic areas can also join the weekly webinars and discussions.
The Principles of Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology lectures are taught by faculty from leading academic institutions across the United States and staff from NIH and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The weekly lectures are given via webinar about a variety of topics, such as:
Drug metabolism and transport
Assessment of drug effects
Pediatric drug formulations
The pharmacotherapy lectures are a particularly unique aspect of this series, because they are developed to bridge the gap between clinical pharmacologists and subspecialists. The lectures examine the appropriate use of drug therapies in a number of subspecialties, including infectious diseases, asthma, and pediatric oncology.
The series started in the 2012 and awarded almost 50 certificates of completion in the first year. Participants have joined from across the United States, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The unique course provides trainees with expert knowledge before they move on to become junior faculty or start careers in clinical pharmacology.
