The first Rubicon funding round 2026 allows NWO to enable a total of 15 talented researchers to gain research experience abroad, 3 of them are working in the medical scientific (ZonMw) domain.
205 researchers receive Veni grants July 16, 2026
The Veni is a personal scientific grant aimed at researchers who have recently obtained their PhD. The grant instrument allows recipients to conduct research of their own choosing. The projects that receive funding therefore cover a wide range of topics.

Ook in de week ná de hitteperiode van eind juni zijn er meer sterfgevallen geregistreerd dan verwacht. In de week 29 juni tot 5 juli van overleden naar schatting 325 meer mensen dan verwacht. Vanaf 11 juli Nationaal Hitteplan actief in zuiden, midden en oosten van Nederland July 9, 2026
Na overleg met het KNMI (Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut) heeft het RIVM besloten het Nationaal Hitteplan te activeren in delen van het land. Dit geldt vanaf zaterdag 11 juli voor de provincies Zeeland, Zuid-Holland, Noord-Brabant, Limburg, Utrecht, Gelderland en Overijssel. Het is de tweede keer dit jaar dat het Nationaal Hitteplan geactiveerd wordt.
